I’m planning to vote. Are You?

In Exodus 18:21, we read, “Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.”

In Deuteronomy 1:13 reminds a new generation of Israelites of the importance of selecting wise leaders, “‘Choose wise, understanding, and knowledgeable men from among your tribes, and I will make them heads over you.'”

The first chief justice of the US Supreme Court admonished Americans with these words, “Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation, to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.”

This election, Americans who vote will determine who are rulers are. Americans who don’t vote will be stuck the politicians others voted for.

Sadly, about half of the Christians in this country aren’t even registered to vote, and about half of those who are registered won’t vote! If only a small percentage of the Christians who aren’t register get registered and vote, it could make a dramatic difference in this election.

There are many important races at the federal, state, and local level. It is vitally important that we elect as many candidates that will uphold Biblical values as possible to all levels of government. We need to restore checks and balances at the federal, state, and local levels to effectively reign in the various branches of government when they exceed their delegated authority.

Will you join me in voting November 8 (or sooner via vote by mail or early voting)? The deadline to register to vote in the general election is Tuesday, October 11. If you or someone you know isn’t registered to vote, visit your local supervisor of elections office to register or update your registration no later than Tuesday, October 11.

I’m confused. There seems to be lines crossed here between ‘Church and State’.

    1. I agree. You are confused. You don’t realize that the separation of church and state isn’t in the constitution. You don’t realize the constitution protects people of all religions from government control. You don’t realize that the constitution doesn’t prohibit Christians from voting according to biblical values. You don’t realize that most of our founding fathers were Christians and that over half of the signers of the Declaration of Independence had attended Bible college. You don’t realize that at the founding of the country it was common for pastors to preach a 3 hour sermon on election day urging their parishioners to vote according to biblical values. Nor do you realize that the pastors played such a predominate role in the American Revolution that the British called them the black regiment and regularly burned churches to the ground because the pastors were a driving force for freedom.
I suggest you educate yourself on the role Christianity played in the founding of our nation before you try to silence the influence of the Bible.
